College Chatbot Startup, AdmitHub Raises $100K from Michelson 20MM Foundation

Feb 5, 2018

ADMITHUB, a Boston-based startup behind a college guidance chatbot, has raised $100,000 in equity financing from the Michelson 20MM Foundation, EdSurge has learned. This financing deal follows a $3 million seed round from Jan. 2017.

Founded in 2014, AdmitHub claims it uses artificial intelligence to power its app, which allows students to ask questions and get answers via text, email and Facebook Messenger. Questions can range from general college topics, such as financial aid and exams, to inquiries specific to a school. The company’s institutional clients currently include Georgia State University, University of Memphis, West Texas A&M and Arizona State University.

The Michelson 20MM Foundation also operates the Michelson-Runway Accelerator, which supports edtech startups focused on postsecondary education. The foundation’s investment in AdmitHub is separate from this program.
