Tool: Learning Assembly’s Pilot Toolkit

This article is part of the guide: The Personalized Learning Toolkit.

For anyone looking to test innovative teaching practices and edtech tools to find what works, welcome to the Learning Assembly pilot toolkit. It has resources to test products, processes and programs.

The Learning Assembly, supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is a network of seven nonprofit organizations—Citizen Schools, Digital Promise, Highlander Institute, iZone, LEAP Innovations, LearnLaunch Institute and Silicon Valley Education Foundation. It has applied and tested 100 tools in 195 schools, improving learning outcomes for 28,000 students across the country. The toolkit pulls together the different approaches to piloting and defines them with two objectives, “implementation” and “efficacy.”

With the toolkit, classroom teachers, school and district teams, piloting organizations and edtech companies can access a wide range of resources from Learning Assembly organizations to advance their system or products. The toolkit provides support from start to finish: from pilot planning, to supporting implementation, to reporting results.
