#DLNchat: So You Want to Be a (Better) Instructional Designer

Sep 27, 2017

Faculty whisperer, sherpa, artist, and engineer were just a few of the words that came up in describing the role of today's instructional designer at #DLNchat on September 26. Instructional designers, faculty, administrators, and entrepreneurs got together to discuss skills, resources and lessons learned in the growing field of instructional design. Amy Ahearn, EdSurge columnist and Online Learning Manager at Acumen, helped lead the discussion as our special guest. Much of the discussion was inspired by her recent article, A Starter Kit for Instructional Designers. There were a lot of great resources shared but our favorite was EdSurge's free networking service LOOP.

#DLNchat was co-hosted by the Online Learning Consortium, WCET, the New Media Consortium and Tyton Partners.

Join our next chat: Big Data and Student Privacy. Add it your Google calendar or RSVP on Facebook for Tuesday, October 10 at 4pm ET / 1pm PT.
