INTEL & HBCUs: This week Intel announced its $4.5 million HBCU grant program, which is intended to encourage and support students pursuing STEM pathways at historically black colleges and universities. According to the press announcement, $3.9 million will be given directly to the schools, and $600,000 will fund campus workshops and activities “to ensure students are prepared with the relevant skills to enter the tech workforce.”
Institutions participating in the program include Florida A&M University, Morgan State University, Howard University, Prairie View A&M University, North Carolina A&T State University and Tuskegee University.
