Cornell University Launches A Meetup for Making

Jun 23, 2017

Cornell University’s College of Engineering just soft-launched a website to connect high school students and educators with each other, with Cornell engineering professors or with other Cornell students. The website, CollabSpace, is a free resource meant to encourage students to collaborate while design engineering (also known as Making).

On the platform, students can learn about coding devices, 3D printing, designing wearables—and more. Participants are encouraged to share with one another and work together to build things. Leaders of the project say that some students lack access to after-school clubs, or friends and mentors who like Making, so the platform serves as a space for students to interact with one another and gain new skills from others.
