U of Chicago, UPenn, Harvey Mudd Among Colleges to Join Scholarship App Raise.me

May 16, 2017

SCHOLARSHIP MARKET: College scholarship app Raise.me, which offers micro-scholarships to high school students through a free online platform, is growing its list of college partners. The new partner institutions are University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, Washington University in St. Louis, Harvey Mudd College and Grinnell College.

Students can earn Raise.me awards, which range from about $100 to $3,000, starting in ninth grade. The scholarships are redeemed when a student is accepted by a partnering institution, like the ones who recently got on board.

Based in San Francisco, Calif., the company claims some 700,000 students (or one of every two high schools across the country) have used the app to help fund their tuition so far.
