Nov 1, 2016

MINECRAFT FANS, GATHER: On November 1, Microsoft announced that Minecraft: Education Editionis now officially available for purchase in 50+ countries. Though some of the features were available through early access in June, this full version of Minecraft: Education Edition includes a number of new elements, including a new classroom mode and NPCs (non-player characters). Educator Diane Main and son Cameron Main reviewed the new features here on EdSurge back in early October. Educators and schools can purchase Minecraft: Education Edition $5 per user/year, or "through a Microsoft education volume licensing discount," says a Microsoft representative.
