COMPSCI CRASH COURSE: Colorado State University-Global Campus is the latest institution to adapt computer science offerings to meet demand for condensed education in the field's red-hot job market. In March the campus launched an online certificate that requires students to complete five 8-week courses, including three in programming, one in data structures and algorithms, and one in platform-based development. Students can complete the requirements as a standalone program or as part of a specialization for the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.
The program was developed with fast-growing bootcamps in mind—the Global Campus wanted to help fill “the gap between non-accredited accelerators and traditional semester-long programs,” Campus Technology reports.
