Boxlight Corporation Acquires Educational Technology Developer, Mimio

MIMIO, a developer of educational hardware and instructional software, has been acquired by Boxlight Corporation, a Lawrenceville, GA-based provider of projectors and display devices. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Founded in 1997, Mimio currently offers a medley of products including whiteboards, projectors, clickers and cameras for the classroom. The company has changed ownership several times in recent years; in July 2013 it was sold by Newell Rubbermaid—the producer of pots and pans, among other things—to Beverley Hills-based private equity firm, Skyview Capital. Terms of this transaction was not disclosed in the press release.
