STUDENT SUCCESS: Higher-ed leaders want to boost college access and completion. Achieving the Dream, a national coalition for community college reform, thinks open educational resources can help.
On Wednesday the group launched its Open Educational Resources (OER) Degree Initiative, a three-year grant program offering financial and technical support for faculty and administrators at community colleges to redesign courses and degree programs around open educational resources. Twenty to 30 participating colleges are expected to develop OER courses by January 2017 and full OER degrees by the end of 2017.
The Initiative includes a research and evaluation component run by SRI International as well as technical assistance provided through Lumen Learning. Applications are due April 8th and can be found on the OER Degree Initiative website, or by emailing oer@achievingthedream.org.
