PBS Announces Launch of 24/7 Children's Station and Live Stream

Feb 23, 2016

ALL DAY, EVERY DAY: Parents, teachers and fans of PBS are sure to like this bit of news. Today, the broadcasting giant announced that it will be launching a new 24/7 children's TV channel and digital live stream later this year. The impact? Anyone will be able to access the shows through pbskids.org and on the PBS KIDS Video App, and via Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Xbox One, Chromecast and mobile devices. And through the more traditional means, local PBS stations will show programming round-the-clock. Translation: children are no longer limited by time, and can now watch after school and during primetime.

“Television continues to be the most widely used platform for children’s educational content, especially among low-income families,” PBS president and CEO Paula Kerger sad in a statement.
