Just Dakhila Raises $750k Seed Round, Takes on Cofounder to Launch School Comparison Platform

Jan 8, 2016

JUST DAKHILA has raised a seed round of Rs 5 crore ($750,000) from Orange Planet's Ankur Gupta, who will join the company as a co-founder. The New Delhi-based company makes a cloud-based platform that allows parents and students to search, compare and apply to schools in the Delhi region of India, focusing on that area because the school admissions cycle has just begun. Just Dakhila plans to expand to other parts of India in the future.

Schools use a subdivision of the platform, School Advantage, that allows them to make themselves attractive to applicants. The company hopes to use the funding to improve its analytics and technology and expand operations. Kapil Mittal founded Easy Analytics Pvt Ltd, which owns Just Dakhila, in 2014, and will launch the platform's pilot program at 750 schools on January 9. Five hundred parents have registered to use it so far, according to VC Circle.

Mittal has indicated that Just Dakhila is interested in raising another round by April. Gupta told VC Circle that he is in Kotak Wealth Management, Edelweiss Financial Services and startup incubator Pad Up Ventures. “We are just waiting for the launch," Gupta added. "We expect to raise Rs 20 crore to expand to the next 15 cities."
