Hack Reactor Reorganizes, Acquires Mobile Makers Academy

Sep 30, 2015

GOING THE ALPHABET ROUTE: Hack Reactor has reorganized its eight schools into a network of independently operated education companies owned by a new umbrella organization: Hack Reactor Core. Core has appointed Anthony Phillips, former CEO of Hack Reactor, as its new CEO and has made Hack Reactor Dean Caroline Esmurdoc CEO of the original school. In a press release, Phillips said that by centralizing administration and resources, Core would allow the individual schools to focus on student outcomes.

Hack Reactor Core has also acquired the bootcamp Mobile Makers Academy to move into iOs programming education. The company offers an eight-week app-building bootcamp on campuses in San Francisco and Chicago. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
