FOURTH LAUNCH: Boston’s education technology startup accelerator, LearnLaunchX announced the next cohort for its fall 2015 program, which will wrap up with an investor Demo Day on Jan. 20, 2016. The companies are:
- Affordable College: a service that helps community college students attain an affordable bachleor’s degree
- Bab’l Books: a tool that uses crowdsourced translations to make children’s stories affordable to all families, especially multilingual households
- Cashtivity: provider of project-based learning platform for entrepreneurship, financial and business challenges
- Learning Games Studio: developer of research-based educational games such as Xenos (for English learning) and Econauts (environmental science)
- Menlo Learn: Provider of test prep, tutoring and admissions services
- Skookii: Payment platform for K-12 parents to manage student spending
- TeachersConnect: Teacher support platform that matches teachers with mentors, including alumni from schools of education
LearnLaunchX’s three previous classes have graduated 19 startups. According to the organization, 18 are still in operation and 14 have received follow-on funding.
