LA Unified Close to $6M Settlement With Apple and Pearson

Sep 14, 2015

$6 MILLION ERROR: Los Angeles Unified School District is “close to finalizing a $6 million-plus settlement deal with Apple and Pearson over the botched iPad program,” according to LA School Report. The money, according to Superintendent Ramon Cortines, will go back to support the district’s technology initiatives. A recent report by AIR on the district’s technology rollout found that usage of Pearson’s digital curriculum “was generally low.” The district had demanded a multi-million dollar refund from Apple and Pearson back in April 2015 after being “extremely dissatisfied” with Pearson’s content.
