EnglishCentral Acquires Japanese Online Tutoring Company, Langrich

LANGRICH, an online English tutoring company based in Japan, has agreed to be acquired by Arlington, MA-based EnglishCentral, which provides an online library of over 10,000 English learning videos. As part of the deal, Langrich’s backers—KLAB Ventures and education incubator Hitomedia—will exchange shares in Langrich for shares in EnglishCentral, according to the release. Founded in 2008, EnglishCentral boasts 100,000 monthly paying users across more than 400 universities in 100 countries.
