On August 4th, 2015, in Davis, California, superintendents and high level district teams from around California assembled for a day of exploring edtech solutions, networking with colleagues and learning from other educational leaders. The EdSurge California Edtech Summit featured panels throughout the day, and we’re now bringing you those talks in podcast form.
Our second focus panel of the day dove into the world of professional development. Our panelists shared thoughts on motivating educators to become participants in the professional development process, opened up about initiatives that didn’t go so well, and spoke about how they try to build accountability into their PD. You’ll also hear a little bit about Pajama Learning in this podcast, which is a term that not a single member of the EdSurge team had ever heard before.
Panelists for this event included Barbara Nemko (Superintendent, Napa COE), Jason Borgen (Director, Innovation & Learning, Portola Valley School District), Michael Moody (CEO, Insight Education Group), Meera Vaidyanathan (Vice President Content, TenMarks), and Mike Lawrence (Chief Executive Officer, CUE). The first voice you hear will be Mike Lawrence, kicking off the panel.
Big thanks to all of our panelists for participating. If you enjoyed this EdSurge Extra, check out our other panels from the Davis Summit, up on iTunes and SoundCloud now.
