On June 29, Celly, which offers a private communications network for schools, announced a crowdfunding service designed for school projects. Available on browsers and within the Celly app, Celly Fundraisers allows users to create campaigns to raise a one-time amount, or with an ongoing monthly goal, including an option for an automatic monthly contribution. Users will receive the donations directly, rather than through a platform like on DonorsChoose, and will receive the funding regardless of meeting the target amount, unlike on Kickstarter.
