COMPARE AND CONTRAST: State legislators have already introduced over 170 bills addressing student data privacy in 2015—and it’s only June. The Foundation for Excellence in Education, founded by Jeb Bush, has offered up a “snapshot” of state student data privacy legislation as of March 2015, including state-by-state regulation of data storage, third party use, and sharing of information between state and local educational agencies.
