NO PARENT CHAPERONES NEEDED: Starting in fall 2015, students will be able to take virtual field trips to locations like the Galapagos, the Great Wall of China, or Wall Street through Google Expeditions.
Using Expeditions, teachers will be able to send synchronized 3D panoramas to students’ smartphones or tablets. The “field trips” will include 360-degree video, background sounds, and discussion questions designed to connect them with curricula. Google for Education recommends using Expeditions with a viewing screen (like Google Cardboard—or make those yourself), but students can also view the new location directly on their smartphone.
