A ROUND OF APPLAUSE: Congratulations to LearnLux, Cognotion, and Handsfree Learning, the education winners of the 1776 Challenge Cup. Boston, MA-based LearnLux offers online tools teaching personal finance. New York, NY-based Cognotion teaches skills to entry-level employees through games and videos. San Francisco, CA-based Handsfree Learning offers technical skills instruction in subjects including dentistry, cosmetology, and lab sciences. On May 16, the three startups will compete in 1776’s Global Finals for a share in the $650,000 of prizes.
