Feb 6, 2015

MUNCHIES: +1 to ClassDojo for taking home the top prize at TechCrunch's annual Crunchies Award for Best Education Startup. Runner-up went to Khan Academy, and AltSchool, Coursera and Kano rounded the finalists.

Other edtech organizations given a high-five: Grammarly was named a runner up in the "Best BootStrapped" category and Girls Who Code was a runner up in "Social Impact"

Yik Yak, an anonymous messaging app popular among students (but not always in a good way), won for Fast-Rising Startup. The two winners join an esteemed circle that include Airbnb, Uber and, yes, Kim Kardashian.
