STEAMENGINE: $8 million to DC-based STEAMEngine Inc. in a round from one undisclosed investor, according to an SEC filing. Founded by former President of the National Geographic Society Tim Kelly, game designer Vijay Lakshman, and entrepreneur Albert Yu-Min Lin, STEAMEngine Inc. is developing “a game-based social learning platform,” according to a job posting.
