​Creative Commons Predicts Passing 1 Billion Benchmark in 2015

COMEDY OF THE COMMONS: The number of works licensed under Creative Commons agreements will pass the one billion mark in 2015, according to the organization’s “State of the Commons” report.

Since 2001, the nonprofit has offered free copyright licenses to enable sharing of creative work. As of November 2014, there are approximately 882 million works with Creative Commons licenses--more than double 400 million, the amount when the last report was issued in 2010.
