ECHO360: $18 million to Reston, VA-based Echo360 in a Series C round led by Duchossois Capital Management and "a private family office," according to the press release. SWaN & Legend, CNF Investments and previous investor, Revolution Growth also participated. Founded in 2007, Echo360 offers a lecture capture tool that records and posts class lectures online and allows professors to modify content, add interactive social features, and track students' understanding of materials through analytics. The company says it's currently used in 625 schools, serving over two million students.
Echo360, which currently has 115 employees, has now raised $83 million. CEO Fred Singer told The Wall Street Journal that the company's "2014 revenue run rate is around $30 million."
