AIM FOR THE CAPITAL: This week Rocketship Education received official approval from the Washington D.C. School Board to open its first D.C. area school in 2016. Four members on the board voted yes and two abstained. This is a year later than anticipated. In 2013, the blended learning charter network received conditional approval to open its first D.C. school by 2015. Now, the network will focus on a 2016 launch in the Anacostia neighborhood.
