Remind Raises $40M for School Text Messaging Service

REMIND: $40M to San Francisco-based Remind in a Series C round led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Additional investors include The Social+Capital Partnership and First Round Capital. Since its founding in August 2011, Remind (formerly Remind 101) has endeavored to create the world's leading mobile messaging system for education, allowing teachers and parents to communicate on everything from  homework and test prep reminders to weather updates. This fundraising announcement rounds out a busy summer for Remind, during which time the company released its feedback response system and launched its app internationally. The company previously raised a total of $19M in its other rounds. More from WSJ.
