DeVry and 1871 Launch Incubator for Higher-Ed Startups

Sep 9, 2014

CHICAGO AIMS HIGH: DeVry, a for-profit operator of higher-ed institutions, has teamed up with Chicago-based incubator, 1871, to create the DeVry EdTech Incubator. It's looking specifically for startups that want to test higher-ed tools with Devry's network of 90 campus-based and online schools. The program is all about connections, mentorship and a possible "long term partnership with DeVry Education Group," senior director of research and development, Jeff Dunn, tells EdSurge. He adds: "We are not planning to host a demo day, and will not take equity in the startups." The program will work three to five startups for each of its six-month program; the first class will begin in Fall 2014. More details here.
