Diving into ClassDojo's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service

Sep 8, 2014

FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS: Nobody parses edtech privacy policies and terms of service (ToS) quite like FunnyMonkey founder, Bill Fitzgerald. Back in July he skewered Digedu for having "just about the worst [ToS] I have ever seen." (The startup shortly updated its terms.) Next on his list: ClassDojo, which he credits for making its terms "more human readable than other companies in the technology space." Still, he has concerns over certain "defensive" and "predatory" statements regarding FERPA compliance, marketing materials and the possible transfers of student data. ClassDojo CEO and co-founder, Sam Chaudhary, took the feedback to heart and promptly responded, line by line.
