Gates Foundation Contributes $1.5M to DonorsChoose Projects

Aug 27, 2014

KEEP ON GIVING: Last week, the Gates Foundation pledged to top up the projects on DonorsChoose that reached the halfway mark during three designated days, figuring that it would donate $1 million to schools. Happily, people proved willing to stretch those Gates bucks even further: the Foundation reports it contributed $1.5 million to DonorsChoose projects, filling the wish lists of more than 9,000 teachers. Yah! EdSurge did our bit, contributing to several classrooms in Ferguson, MO before completing our “IceBucket Challenge” video. Interested in contributing? Hop over to DonorsChoose; you can find Ferguson classrooms by starting with the zip code 63135.
