SUMMER READING: Vox's Libby Nelson has compiled a collection of 12 New Yorker education articles to read, which includes pieces from respected pundits like Steven Brill (journalist and author of Class Warfare) and Malcolm Gladwell (of the 10,000-Hour Rule fame), along with profiles of Arne Duncan and Diane Ravitch. The list covers a swath of big topics, debates and controversies over politics and private money. As is typical with The New Yorker, some of the articles, at over 7,000 words, can be a marathon. But these are well worth the time, so brew yourself a couple pots of tea and find a comfortable seat.
