Google Play for Education Now Available on Chromebooks

WHO WOULDA THUNK IT? Google Play for Education is now available on Chromebooks, TechCrunch reports. Yes, it’s an ironic announcement considering that Chromebooks are the product of Google minds. But nevertheless, it’s great news for educators! Teachers and students can now access Android and Chrome apps, books and videos on on both tablets and Chromebooks. Good timing, as Google reports that “about 10,000 schools currently use Chromebooks.”

EDITOR'S NOTE: According to a rep for Google, teachers will now be able to deploy "Chrome apps, books, and YouTube videos to Chromebooks" directly from Play for Education, but will not be able to install Android Apps on Chromebooks at this time, as they are separate platforms.
