SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION EMPLOYMENT: MOOCs reach a new low (or "small," rather) with nanodegrees. Yesterday, Udacity announced plans to launch nanodegrees in the Fall with initial funding from AT&T's Aspire program--$1.5 million, to be exact. These nanodegrees will consist of hands-on courses selected by industry (Salesforce, Cloudera, etc.), a capstone project, and career advice from current professionals.
Currently, Udacity is developing nanodegrees on front-end web development, back-end web development, iOS mobile development, Android mobile development, and data analysis.
Additionally, AT&T plans up to offer up to 100 paid internships available to top students who complete nanodegrees, and scholarships to non-profit organizations starting with Genesys Works and Year Up.
