Scholastic to Host "Stopping the Summer Slide" Reading Roundtable Discussion

Apr 8, 2014

BOOK IT: Inspired by its recently-launched free Summer Reading Challenge, Scholastic will facilitate a social media discussion for educators to share successful summer reading strategies they use with their students. The live Google+ Hangout, entitled “Summer Reading Roundtable: Stopping the Summer Slide”, will take place on April 16th at 8 pm (ET). The discussion (facilitated by a principal, a district leader and a teacher) will facilitate the sharing of advice on tips to engage the entire school community, how to educate parents on the importance of summer reading, and other ideas to prevent that notorious "summer slide."
