Netchemia Acquires SchoolSpring to Streamline K-12 Talent Management

Mar 17, 2014

SCHOOLSPRING: Acquired by Prairie Village, KS-based Netchemia, LLC for an undisclosed amount. Based in Vermont, SchoolSpring offers an online jobs board for K-12 districts that has processed over 3.4 million applications and 140K postings since its founding in 2000. Netchemia provides a suite of services that help streamline the K-12 talent management, performance evaluation and compliance processes.

With the acquisition, Netchemia will be serving over 2,000 districts, according to the press release. SchoolSpring's 20 employees will continue operations in Vermont as part of Netchemia's team.

Netchemia CEO, Carlos Antequera, tells EdSurge that districts have been more data-driven as they look for candidates who fit the needs, culture and context of the teaching environment. "Each type of schools--urban, rural, charter--present different kinds of challenges," he says, "and folks have been using systems like ours to look at candidates' historical data to learn how they match what a school needs."
