GETTING AMPED: NorthJersey.com reports that New Jersey Education Commissioner, Chris Cerf, will be leaving his post on Feb. 28 to join Amplify as the chief executive of its Insight division, which oversees the company's assessment services. The position is currently held by Josh Reibel, who is also heading the Learning division (which deals with content). He had worked under Joel Klein, CEO of Amplify, from 2006 to 2009. Cerf, who started his career as a high school history teacher, had approved 37 charter schools and shut down 10 during his three years in his current post.
