DETROIT GOES DIGITAL: Kicking off its series of case studies on the League of Innovative Schools, Digital Promise did a district spotlight this week on Utica Community Schools, a district that implements blending learning all the way down to Kindergarten. Located just outside of Detroit, Utica pulled from resources and school models like KIPP Empower to create a K-12 system focusing on teacher buy-in on tech, unique partnerships (such as with eSpark and Dreambox Learning), and separate laptop and tablet centers.
