AVANTI: Delhi-based Avanti Learning, which operates a chain of blended learning centers for low-income communities in seven cities across India, has received funding from the Pearson Affordable Learning Fund and two angel investors. The round was "less than $500K," according to Ravi Patel, a business development analyst at the Fund. Avanti claims its students have "20% higher attendance and lower attrition" when compared to those in traditional programs, with 80% of them showing a 20% or more increase on standardized test performance.
