Gutenberg Technology Raises $6.5M Series B for Digital Textbooks

GUTENBERG TECHNOLOGY: $6.5 million to Gutenberg Technology in a Series B round led by the BNP Paribas, a French (and the world's fourth largest) bank. Founded in 2010, the New-York based company will continue development of MyEbookFactory, a digital publishing platform that adds multimedia enhancements to Adobe InDesign and PDF textbook files and optimizes them for mobile devices. The company has partnered with the likes of Pearson and lelivrescolaire.fr to publish titles used by over 40,000 teachers and 50,000 students in France. The press release adds that the company will also be "adding MOOC features."
