Play-i Surpasses $250K Crowdfunding Goal for Programmable Robots--in 3 Days

Nov 5, 2013

I, ROBOT: We sometimes yearn for the day when robots can be our best friends. Perhaps Play-i can make that come true. Last week, the Sunnyvale, CA-based startup kicked off a crowdfunding campaign for Bo and Yana, robots designed for children 5 and up to program on mobile devices. Stories and "quests" introduce computer science logic with tools like Scratch and Blockly. (Here's a promo video.) In just three days, the campaign surpassed its $250K goal. There's still over 20 days--and 1,600 robots--left. $198 gets you both Bo and Yana.
