Institute for Humane Studies Announces Free Online Curriculum Hub

Oct 17, 2013

GET THE EDVANTAGE: On October 15, the George Mason University Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) announced the launch of EDvantage, a free online curriculum hub for educators.

The purpose of the hub, designed for high school teachers and college professors, is twofold. First, it provides educators with a portal that curates educational videos, articles, and other resources for classroom instruction. Additionally, teachers also have the option to contribute their own content to the site and grow its collection.

Josh Owens, curriculum resource manager for IHS, speaks to the benefits of using the hub, saying, “With access to a wide variety of content, educators can select the materials that complement their teaching methods and students’ learning styles.”

Currently, Edvantage’s offerings focus on economics and policy. Subject areas in development include political science, law, and business ethics.
