On-Demand Tutoring Platform InstaEDU Raises $4M Series A

INSTAEDU: $4 million to SF-based InstaEDU in Series A round led by Battery Ventures, with existing investor Social+Capital Partnership also participating. Brian O'Malley, General Partner of Battery Ventures, will join the company's Board of Directors. Founded in November 2011 by a trio of Stanford undergrads, InstaEDU boasts that any user can connect with any one of the site's 3,000+ tutors for a one-to-one session in under 30 seconds. The most popular subjects are computer science, statistics and calculus, according to the press release.
