3D Printer Prices Could Fall in 2014

MAKING MAKERS: Over at Quartz, Christoper Mims forecasts that "3D printing will explode in 2014" after patents that currently prevent market competition expire in February 2014. Prices for quality printers could drop from thousands to the hundreds of dollars. This means that in the near future, handy teachers could start making their own classroom materials--and not shell out $485 a year.
