LightSail Gets a $1M Boost

LIGHTSAIL EDUCATION: New York City-based LightSail Education closed a +$1 million angel round. Among the investors are: Blue Ridge Foundation, Joel Greenblatt (Gotham Capital), Chuck Strauch (former Chairman & CEO, PairGain Technologies), Dan Nir, Sargent Capital, Lisa Lippman (Brown Harris Stevens), Paul Appelbaum, (co-founder of Seamless.com), Zac Zeitlin, and Kevin Leahey (The Renatus Group).

The company is developing a digital literacy platform tied the Common Core and offers analytics provided by partner, MetaMetrics based on Lexile reading levels. LightSail is participating in Chicago's hands on day on July 11.
