Amplify MOOCs It Up

Jul 1, 2013

MOOC! Sounds like this amplifier is going off again. Fresh of its recent showcase games that will be available on its platform, Amplify announced last week that it will kick off a high school MOOC on AP Computer Science. According to the company, the free, two-semester course will begin in August and "is the equivalent of an introductory college level class...[that] will teach Java and cover the AP Java Subset as defined by the College Board." There's also a "MOOC Local" program available for schools where the company will provide additional content, resources and online training for coaches who will oversee students during the course. This program's priced at $200 per student per year, but the company is currently offering a free one-year trial.
