Virtual Nerd: Virtually Gone

Jun 24, 2013

VIRTUALLY GONE: Virtual Nerd, a well-regarded math program, is shuttering much of its operations as of July 1. The company put out this note:

"On July 1 we will be discontinuing many of the services we currently offer, including School Edition, Home Edition, and our Math Boot Camps. We are sorry we could not provide more advance notice about this change, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may cause you.... at that point your account will no longer exist in our system."

The company whittled down to three employees in March and pledged to keep going until the end of the school year. Since then the assets were sold to Pearson Education. Video lesson will continue to be available at VirtualNerd.com. "In fact, we've improved the tools you can use to find the help you need," according to a note from the company.

Seems like the rest of the company is gone, now, however.
