Curious Raises $7.5M for Lifelong Education

May 2, 2013

CURIOUS: $7.5 million to Menlo Park, CA-based Curious in Series A round led by Redpoint Ventures, with Bill Campbell and Jesse Rogers participating, along with a personal $500K from the startup's own founder and CEO, Justin Kitch. Similar to Udemy, Curious takes a "learn anything from anyone" approach to its online learning marketplace, which allows users to take (or teach) any classes that pique their interests. The company takes a 30 percent cut of whatever teachers make from their classes, according to VentureBeat.
