INTERACTIVE ACHIEVEMENT: $3.5 million to Roanoke, VA-based Interactive Achievement, developer of onTRAC, from an undisclosed private equity investor. This is IA's first outside investment. The firm was started in 2006 by teachers Jonathan and Mary Hagmaier and Matt Muller to provide better assessment and reporting tools for teachers with the goal of helping them make data-driven decisions that enable them to personalize instruction.
