Check out EdSurge at SXSWedu!

Feb 27, 2013

EdSurge won’t be holding anything back for SXSWedu next week. That’s right, we’ll be there in full force.

You can catch us onstage, caffeinated, copacetic and hopefully coherent at the following sessions:

3/4 @ 1:30 pm: “The New Edtech Ecosystem--Will It Survive?” (Tony)
3/5 - 3/6: LaunchEDU Lightning Rounds and Showdowns (Betsy)
3/6 @ 10:30 am: “Tinker Tailor Solder Ply: Why Makers Rule in EDU” (Kris)

Other sessions we’ve highlighted in our calendars: we’ll start Monday afternoon with an earful of Big Data from some seriously smart dudes--Joe Morgan (Noodle CEO), Richard Culatta (Dept. of Ed), and Stephen Coller (Gates Foundation). On Tuesday, we’re definitely going to see if David Robinson (aka The Admiral) still has some hops left as he discusses building schools. Wednesday features a Texas showdown between Coursera co-founder Andrew Ng and edX President Anant Agarwal. Then Bill G wraps things up on the final day with the closing keynote.

Of course, there’s only so much coffee chugging, sitting and patient listening that conference go-ers can take...

When you find yourself needing a little pick-me-up, head on over to our Makerspace room and get your hands a little dirty. That’s right--EdSurge is running a dedicated Maker room in Ballroom G, where you’ll find quirky robots, laser cutters, 3D printers, Raspberry Pi creations and more. It’ll make you wonder why there aren’t more Makerspaces at school. Luckily, the Maker Media booth will show you where to begin.

Oh right, and what’s a conference without all the afterparties? Stay tuned--we’ll keep you posted @edsurge.

See ya there!
