Tutorspree Scores $800K to Expand Tutoring Network

TUTORSPREE: $800K to NYC-based Tutorspree in a new round led by Mike Hirschland (Resolute VC), with existing investors also participating, reports TechCrunch. The company had previously raised $1 million from a distinguished lineup of investors that include Sequoia Capital and Founder Collective. The 2011 YCombinator alumni offers an online marketplace where students can find private tutors near their ZIP codes and schedule live, in-person sessions. The company currently boasts over 7,000 tutors.
